Writers’ Retreat, Venice

This lovely group of humans participated in our very first Writers’ Retreat in Venice, led by the amazing writer and teacher, Sophfronia Scott (far right). Venice is a very special place and this was a very special week. We spent each morning in writing workshops and, in the afternoons, sought inspiration in the city and lagoon of Venice, and amongst the Palladian villas of the Brenta canal. The retreat was a joint-venture between Sophfronia and my wife, Janet (front and centre), and it was particularly lovely to have my daughter, Lucy (in the green dress), participating. We were also joined by our friend, Lara Massi, from Senigallia (just down the Adriatic coast) and by other friends, old and new, for what has become something of an annual event.
