The Kosmas is an 88ft wooden Gulet, of Turkish origin, owned and operated by the indomitable Captain Alex of Greece-by-Sea. It was our home for seven days as we sailed amongst the Greek islands to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It’s hard to imagine a sailing vessel, or a captain, with more character. Crashing through waves on windy crossings between islands, sheltering in the calm of a sandy bay, drinking ouzo and water, lively conversation over dinner, and retiring to our extremely cosy cabin below deck. It was, quite simply, exhilarating.
